For the Love of Roses: handmade rose stationery, greeting cards, potpourri, and sachets

Deb's Corner

I am not really sure what originally attracted me to roses, I just know I've been more than fond of them as far back as I can remember.

One early memory I have of loving roses is my mom cutting fresh ones from a brick planter out front of our house when I was a small child. She came in with sweat on her brow and an armful of rainbow colored roses...Reds as deep as fire, Pinks as clear and pretty as baby's new skin, Yellows as bright as a sunny summer day, Whites like puffy clouds and poppy colored Orange ones...the smell radiating, wafting from her bundle into my nose.

If I knew what heaven smelled like...this would be it. Glorious...just glorious. I knew that very day, that roses were my most favorite flower. Something about them is so comforting.

When someone gives you roses, you know ...you are special. And that someone really wants you to know...that you ARE special. I love their shape, their individuality, each one different from the next. Each smells different, some spicy, some citrusy ,some musky, some sweet....some no scent at all. No 2 are alike...like people! But roses are so beautiful, from their leaves to their magnificent blooms... I just love roses... simply for the love of roses! Natures weed ...the rose.
